Well, that was *actually* probably something along the lines of a Hittite war chariot, but they didn't publish any manuals...  Bill probably knows, since he was there as a test driver.

FCS - Future Combat System. The Germans got there first.

Biggest weakness in the Hittite war chariot was the high c.g. -- it was a real bear to keep it from overturning on rough terrain. Matter of fact, my very first crash was just outside of Kadesh Army Chariot Field. No post-crash fire, luckily...

Actually, the jerries built something like this, though non-armored: the Kettenkrad, a sort of motorcycle, but with tracks. And it worked.
