Have her speaking at the Power and Light district near the Sprint Center right before thousands of people go into the Tina Turner concert...at the Sprint Center at the Power and Light district.
Astroturfing in the real world, anyone?
While McCain campaigns in the middle of the day at the boring Truman Library in Independence, Mo with only a handful of supporters. These guys need to get their act together.
I just read that Obama has his own TV channel on Dish Network.
Heed the great leader! Watch Obama TV!
Yes, after reading all this internal garbage about Palin, et al, I am thinking that Obama is getting elected in November, that my taxes will go up and I will possibly be unemployed due to the ensuing financial crash that he will blame on the Bush Administration.
Joy.
Frankly, I'm getting a little tired of all the "OMG! Palin is so stupid and unprepared!" From the republicans, no less. None of these folks apparently understand that her original appeal was that she was "not like all the other politicians". For some reason, though, there is a large part of the right punditry that thought Palin should have sprung, virtuous and uncompromised, from John McCain's forehead, speaking with the glib and pseudo-knowledgeable tongue of a seasoned politician while maintaining her "Sarah America" down home, for the little people, goodness. I think these folks have forgotten that the only reason politicians can speak with forked tongues like they do is their long and ubiquitous association with politics; making them hardly virtuous nor uncompromised.
But, our media betters and enumerable punditry from the left and the right seem to think that is what we should have: a well spoken politician who knows all the answers, but is so busy triangulating their position, you really have no idea what they stand for and nothing ever gets done. That last not always being a bad thing. Still, why is America insisting that the Media's version of the American Presidential or Vice Presidential nominee is the one we should be angling for?
It isn't words that matter, it's deeds. And, let me tell you something, when it comes to "deeds" Sarah Palin wins hands down against Obama and Biden and runs a close second to McCain who can only top her because, yes, he did spend five years as a POW being tortured for his country.
Sarah Palin cuts property tax as Mayor of Wasilla and then Governor of Alaska. Obama and Biden vote for more taxes on everything but their friends. Palin makes the oil companies pay more to Alaska for its resources. Obama and Biden are very, very busy giving our money away to all of their special interest friends swilling at the trough of earmarks and energy bills.
But, this isn't some plug for Gov. Palin. The point is, when did words become the key to a good public servant and not deeds? Why have the right sided pundits lost their minds over Palin nearly as much as the left? Why did they buy into it? Yes, I know Sarah Palin did not speak on subjects like a Rhodes Scholar with a degree in complex engineering, health care management, applied sciences, and an MBA from the Wharton school of Business, but politics and politicians do not have to be complex or complexing. It is good and sound principles which make the difference. When did these people forget that?
While I'm not into that whole "Unity" "Obama" thing with the fainting worshippers singing his praises (creeps me out), I think the republicans could get their heads out of their *bleep* long enough to get past the election.
Probably not going to happen, though. George Bush not only made the Republican Party, he has apparently broken it. Not through active participation, but because no one wants to be remembered as a George Bush Republican. No one wants to be remembered as the person that supported a guy who said "nuk-u-lar" and stutters when he has to give a speech. No one wants to be associated with the "Iraq was a good thing" mantra because *gasp* people died there and everything did not go smoothly without a casualty in sight. As if war was something else than ugly or less than pristine. Everybody wants to be the "new" Republican party and they don't even know what the hell that is.
Yes, I like Sarah Palin. I like her libertarian leanings with a shot of populist, but responsive government. You know, the kind of politician that just doesn't give you mealy mouth, non-committal BS on the campaign trail just to turn around and do as little as possible because it might tick off any number of special interests, focus groups or congressional committees that politician might need to pass the next bill.
The Republicans and even John McCain's campaign need to learn an important lesson: Fight each battle as its own separate war. While every general must keep his eye on the greater war over all, there are very bad precedents set by generals who are so busy planning two or more battles ahead that they lose their entire army at some no name place in the middle of no where to a general no one has ever heard of before.
Frankly, the Republican party now acts like the schizophrenic patient who is threatening to shoot all the other personalities inside the Republican Party's head. And it is 34 days until the election.
Yes, scoff at the Democrat "Unity" ticket and talk about the PUMAs voting McCain with pride, but the truth is, the Republican ticket is one big PUMA organization. They will be wearing that PUMA Republican button with pride, too, on November 5 when Obama gives his acceptance speech.
Hey Kat, how come this was up then gone from AoS?
Some other Democrats have pressed Senator Obama about his actual place of birth (members of Obama's family claim multiple places in Hawaii and Kenya). He might not have been born an American Citizen!
His stepfather's adoption of him may have made him an Indonesian Citizen--and a Muslim. If so (and he did travel on an Indonesian passport after he was 18), he may not be eligible under the Constitution, regardless of where he was born!
And the Obama Campaign just keeps blowing smoke and spinning, instead of obeying the court and releasing the relevant documents.
Surely this could be easily resolved? Surely the DNC would rather this be resolved sooner than later? If Obama is the honorable man he claims to be, surely he would want this resolved today!
I just have no idea which way it's going to go.
I'm still trying to figure out just how Obama could afford to go to Occidental, Columbia, and then Harvard, not to mention the "esteemed Punahou Academy" in Hawaii.
Or where he got the money to travel to Pakistan, India, Indonesia, and elsewhere in 1981.
Why has Obama tried to downplay and almost ignore the Pakistan travel? Considering his limited resume' and his inflation of what little foreign policy experience he has, seems that he'd be making the most of his Pakistan travels to claim that he really understands the people and culture in that region since they're a major player in our national security right now.
For a poor student, he sure got around .... and to some very interesting places. No wonder Michelle is finally proud.
