A Classic Castle Weekend.

Here at the Castle, it was a busy weekend.  We had Bloodspite, co-worker Jeremy, Denizenne's Kat and Barb-lady, and Long-term Serf Wendy all visiting the Great Hall at once. Kat came back the next day with nephew and niece, too.

Among the rifles in the Arsenal, Brab got to shoot my Bushmaster semiauto M4-clone, Romanian AK, Albanian SKS, and M14. I'm thinking she liked the M4 best, and I know she liked the M14 (my favorite rifle) the least.  Too much recoil for her taste, methinks.

Out of the pistols, she shot the Desert Eagle Mk 1 in .357 magnum, and did right well with it. That's a lotta pistol to handle! She also shot our Argentine Hafdasa .45 and Polish Tokarev TT-33.  Here's a little video of how well she handled the monster that is the Desert Eagle shooting 180grain fodder (anything smaller in terms of bullet weight and the DE won't cycle reliably).

All in all, a good weekend.  More videos to come, now that I've figured out the software.

Way to go BRAB!  I am sure that the Pruple Kiddie Dinosaur at the receiving end was non-plused, though.

How cool is it that the firing range is your back porch? I hate you cuz I envy you.

Complete with ceiling fans and easy access to "the facilities" and the refrigerator (N.B., alcohol is not served when the range is hot, regardless of how hot it may be.).

Dunno about the Purple Dino being non-plussed -- but I know what he was *minus* when Brab fired out...

Bill is referring to this...

That's rippin' him a new cloaca!

Thanks again to John and Beth for the hospitality, it was well worth the drive over and back!

John is right - the M14 left some bruises on the front of my shoulder.  Then again, I think it was the last one of the long guns that I fired, so it may have been a cumulative effect.  The other thing I liked about the M4 was the length - it fits my stature better.  The Desert Eagle was verra nice to shoot, certainly heavy, but sweet to shoot :-)

BTW - Lest we confuse people, the purple dino was neutered during a previous engagement, not on this weekend.
