Palin and the Trooper

So, now that they couldn't pull off the "not Palin's baby", "daughter is immoral, unwed mother", 'Palin had an affair, we think...at least, according to her ex-brother-in-law who tasered his 10 year old nephew, threatened the grandfather and to 'drag' Palin down, several times while posturing with his service revolver", "no experience" meme, we're back to "troopergate".

Apparently their are emails from Governor Palin asking what had happened with Wooten and the complaint against him since he got a bare five day suspension. Allegedly she fired the the head of the security, Monegan. Wooten, the apparently unrepentent bogeyman trooper, was never fired. Not even now and he continues to sow rumors and lies in the background.

I'll tell you honestly, if some a$$h*le threatened any member of my family and tasered my nephew, they'd have more than some emails and a "he said/she said" accusation about Monegan being fired over the issue (can you say "sour grapes"). They'd have me on phone calls, on messages, on video and in person riding somebody's a$$. I would not just threaten, I would promise that their jobs would be gone if something happened to my family because they refused to act.

End of story.

Next question?

And here I thought they weren't the droids we were looking for.

Well, actually, I misspoke. Technically, anyway. The Army denied *Delta Force* existed -- then hurriedly redesignated the Deltas as "the Task Force." Then scrambled to deny "the Task Force" existed, and re-named it TF160.

Then when *that* moniker got too much popular play, TF160 "disappeared" into the regimental system and re-appeared as 1-160th SOAR.

And the ultimate giggle is, everybody still calls them the Deltas...
Heh. IIRC, if a General wanted to fire me, he had a set of regulations he had to go through in order to get the Secretary of the Army to recommend to the President that my commission be revoked.

The President, waking up grumpy (in this case, a mood, not our commenter) from bad chile the night before, could just pick up the phone, call the Secretary and say, "Fire Donovan" and I would have to start hitting Monster.

And since you're not the governor of a state using your executive authority to fire someone, that would be okay.

The governor has discretionary powers over those personnel who "serve at the pleasure of the Governor." It's right in the job description, xanth, and every incoming governor of every State and Commonwealth in the Union exercises that power at one time or another -- and some even do it merely because the officeholder is of the wrong political party.

US Attorneys also "serve at the pleasure of" the POTUS, and can be terminated "just because."

Which was just fine with the Dems when WJ Clinton did wholesale firings of said US Attorneys, but which elicited squeals of outrage from those same Dems when GW Bush did so -- and on a smaller scale, to boot.

Hey, at least he seems to have left a legitimate email.

That said - dude - doesn't your side have *anything* better and more adult than this approach?

Democrats have clearly demonstrated for all to see this week that being a woman, and therefore blessed by the protections of feminism and Correct Thinking, is defined not by having ovaries, but, rather, by having Democrat ovaries. If you fail that test, they're not ovaries, they're merely undescended testicles, and you are to be dismissed with the most trite (and/or vile) expressions of playground pottymouth and sophmoric sexual crudities. Apparently a person with interior plumbing but "undescended testicles" can be subject to all the hate and abuse that can be tossed their way, and none may dare call it misogyny.

It will be hard for McCain to top Palin's speech, but I hope he says something like this at some point:

"Senator Obama and the Democrats claim that if you elect me as your president, I'll just bring you 4 more years of President Bush's administration. After 9/11, President Bush had some tough choices to make. All of his critics and the pundits were certain Al Qaeda and Islamic terrorists would hit us again soon, and that it was just a matter of time before we suffered even more serious attacks here on US soil - perhaps even with WMDs obtained from state sponsors like Iraq, Iran, Syria, North Korea, and Libya."

"But President Bush chose to reject the "law enforcement" approach to terrorism - the same approach, by the way, that Senator Obama would take us back to - and chose to go on the offense, to take the fight to THEM. Radical Islam had declared war on us - not the other way around - and President Bush decided that if we must fight that war, let's fight it in on THEIR turf and in THEIR streets, not ours."

"By doing so, President Bush has ensured that we've enjoyed almost 7 full years since 9/11 without suffering another terrorist attack on American soil. Do I plan to repeat that success, and bring you more of that kind of peace and security? You're damn right I do."

"And so should they".
I see... so, apparently. the Pro-woman leftists are only pro-woman if she's a member of THEIR political bubble?

What does it say about the legions of spittle-flecking, vindictive hurling leftards that , when a major political party actually, you know, PICKS a woman (and a woman with some major real-life experience and serious street creds) that those same buffoons on the left go all adolescent melt down?

The leftists had their chance to run a woman of some means and stature, but when time came to put up or shut up, they suddenly felt the need to vote for style over substance. That, my friends certainly sums up the left these days. Vacuous, shallow, narcisistic and unfit to lead.

Instead of putting their votes where their collective mouths are, they went for the even more shallow, self-deifying thug from the Chicago Political machine, thereby removing all doubt about what the real aganda is. It isn't doing what is best for America, it isn't putting country above self, it is seizing power, controlling the population. and redistributing wealth amongst themselves. The leftists are all about victimhood and control through social division.

It makes me incredibly sad to think of what the real JFK might think of his party today. JFK said "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country".

Compare that with what the Obamessiah says.

Sarah Palin is a brilliant selection for the Vice Presidency. She has the skill sets and knowleadge for the job. More than anything else, she is one of us.
