Heh.  Is it me, or has Senator Obama started running against Governor Palin, vice Senator McCain?  And he can't seem to bring himself to acknowledge that she's a Governor... keeps referring to her as the Mayor of a small town.  Heh.  That's the best their War Room has to offer?  The Governor certainly has rattled them.

The Kossacks continue to smother themselves in gory [sic].  Funny thing - one of the things Kossacks railed about the war was how it brutalized the soldiers and destroyed their humanity.  Heh.  It would appear politics does, too.  Joseph Bottoms wades through the mire so you don't have to.  -the Armorer

Little did I know, in that dim past before Governor Palin accepted the Veep offer, just how right I was: This just in! Democratic Party full of anti-feminist misogynist troglodytes!  -the Armorer

It's all Palin today apparently. Take this with a grain of salt since this was brought to you by the same people who insisted that, six weeks into war, Afghanistan was Vietna...no...er...Iraq is Vietna...um...okay...Afghanistan is Vietnam! crowd.

You know, doesn't it always seem like the left is constantly wishful thinking about things that would be bad for America and seems completely illogical to boot?  Like, I don't know, destroying a female candidate because she's a woman so they can...what?  Prove they are liberated liberals supporting a well rounded, well educated, accomplished liberated woman in a world with equal rights and equal pay?  Who knew that the way to do that was by using a liberal fascist jackboot to shove women back into the kitchen, barefoot and pregnant?  Jerry Falwell was so ahead of his time!

For their next act, maybe they can insure religious freedom by stripping all references to faith or God out of public offices, public land or public squares, suspending any public servant that makes references to anything religious or has the audacity to display a religious symbol on their person or in their office, order people to stop saying "Merry Christmas!" and sell the manger scenes for scrap!

Oh, wait, they already do that.  Wow!  If the left was anymore liberal, Torquemada would become their spokes "person".   You know, he hated women (or, should I say, "feared" them) and secretly despised the Catholic Church.  Just sayin'.     - Kat

Your must-read for the day. I mean it. Comments, too. - FbL

Heh.  Kat stomped on my addenda to the misogynist link - Democrats have clearly demonstrated for all to see this week that being a womyn, and therefore blessed by the protections of feminism and Correct Thinking,  is defined not by having ovaries, but, rather, by having Democrat ovaries.  If you fail that test, they're not ovaries, they're merely undescended testicles.  And you are therefore subject to all the hate and abuse that can be tossed your way, and none may dare call it misogyny.

Such is the world of the spittle-flecked Left these days.  -the Armorer

*A term of art from the artillery. Harassment and Interdiction Fires. Back in the day, when you could just kill people and break things without a note from a lawyer, they were pre-planned, but to the enemy, random, fires at known gathering points, road junctions, Main Supply Routes, assembly areas, etc - to keep the bad guy nervous that the world around him might start exploding at any minute. Not really relevant to today’s operating environment, right? But, it *is. The UAVs we fly over Afghanistan and Pakistan looking for targets of opportunity are a form of H&I fires, if you really want to parse it finely. We just have better sensors and fire control now. Of course, now I have to call them UAS’s, because someone got a Legion of Merit for the name change.Anyway, I call the post H&I Fires because it’s random things posted by me and people I’ve given posting privileges to that particular topic. Another term of art that might be appropriate is Free Fire Zone.

OMG!  I just read this line over at Ace's place and I have to say it:

Bristol Palin, a 17 year old girl, is not, in fact, running for Vice President, and probably is not even eligible for the position until she successfully passes Civic Studies.

I know Obama would like to run against Bristol Palin. He might actually have more experience and gravitas than she does.

No, right now he's busy running against President Bush. It's a lot easier to run against a lame duck, unpopular President who isn't actually IN the race and won't defend himself.

OK .... it's making the rounds .... but this is funny. Caution: Some language NSFW:

When faced with monsters, we have to be monstrous ourselves.

That from a member of the Reality Based Party -- and whose only monster, I guarantee you, is the one who peers myopically back at him from the mirror in the morning...

Monsters and the '60's Generation.  I think it's the residual effects of all the acid they did back then.

Side Effects

Two long-term effects are associated with LSD use: psychosis, and hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD), also known as "flashbacks." The exact causes of these effects, including the mechanism by which LSD may cause them, is unknown. Chronic hallucinogen users or individuals with underlying personality problems are most vulnerable to these effects, but individuals with no history of psychological disorders have also experienced them. LSD-induced psychosis may include dramatic mood swings, loss of cognitive and communication skills, and hallucinations. Flashbacks generally involve seeing bright flashes, or halos or trails attached to moving objects after the LSD "trip" has ended. Flashbacks can last a few seconds or even several hours.

Its interesting that none of you have noticed the point Sen. Obama has made about the candidates family as being out of bonds. Its also interesting that your top-cartoon spreads slander concerning the Palin family I have yet to see on any leftie site. I gotta admit, as a foreign NATO soldier, the levels of pure jockish inanity that you US rightwing soldiers are capable off in your disgust for those who dont agree with you is... fascinating.

It's interesting you don't understand it's a *satire* on exactly the kind of slanders that are appearing on the leftie sites, Maybe it's the language barrier.

Its interesting that none of you have noticed the point Sen. Obama has made about the candidates family as being out of bonds.

You may also have noticed that most of us here *like* the Palin family. You may *also* have noticed that your remarks are curiously off-the-mark, in that the tenor of the comments here is bemusement at the vitriol aimed at the Palins by the Lefties.

In soldierly terms -- you're off target by several hundred meters.

Heh, Jock  (fnord)- we're reacting to... the Leftie's reaction to Governor Palin.  In previous posts, I have noted both Senator Obama's response of "leave the families out of it" and several lefty bloggers who who also chastise their side for the behavior.

I'll cut you a break on Day By Day, satire doesn't always cross cultural boundaries well.

You might not like our "jockish inanities" but would suggest our inanities are far funnier and less acrid than the other sides.  Is not a humorous response better than biting vitriol?

Heh.  Back in my days of NATO service, with 1st Armored in Germany, one thing that always impressed me about Brit soldiers, especially artillerymen (see the post below this for some Brit gunners, btw), was their attention to detail in clearing fires and ensuring that the target area contained legitimate targets.

I'm sure this fire mission was simply a recon by fire to test us.

Cheers,

John

Hey, that reminds me -- Owen, our favorite Doc-Without-Boundaries, hasn't commented in ages. Does he still pop in to visit?

I don't think so.  I think we were... boring.

No new bang-sticks? Or just nothing to argue about discuss?
