This is getting ridiculous. with media coverage like this I'm gonna start needing a tinfoil hat--I don't want whatever super-secret rays the Obama campaign is using on the media to start affecting me.
The bracelet story--very confusing, but Hot Air has what seems to be the final verdict.
Information Dissemination points us to a fascinating discussion about the Army's explorations in using new media (both internally and externally). Well worth a read, especially in light of the Army presence at this year's Milblog Conference.
MIchael Yon needs help.
Obama "gets it," now. Of course, the question is: what did he get? Was it "saying soldiers died in vain is poitically stupid," or "no soldier dies in vain following the orders of his Commander in Chief?" Anybody out there who can deconstruct it for me, because I'm not sure I understand that second statement.
Bloodspite has a very un-fun day. I'm familiar with such stories, but I manage to convince myself they're merely charicatures or that those attitudes aren't held by entire groups of people... until someone I know encounters these pockets of arrogance and idiocy. Somehow I suspect Bloodspite's customers wouldn't see a problem with this--doing what's best for the poor, ignorant and unskilled underclass clinging to their guns and religion, of course (comments are interesting, too).
Just another reminder for Senator Obama--those Iraqis want U.S. troops out now.
Let's end it on something light... I'm a woman, and I still don't understand this. Maybe some guys have just been falling down on the job:
The survey said Brazilian, Dutch and French women favor chocolate over sex, while Italians, Germans and Mexicans would prefer to go shopping before having sex. Perhaps the way to win over the heart of an Argentine woman would be to follow up a romantic dinner with sex in a chocolate store inside a shopping mall?********************************
Speaking of Senator Obama and his friends - what Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn hoped to accomplish, some years ago, but failed through the incompetence of their minions. Bob Owens has it at Pajamas Media. Remember, Mr. Ayers is unrepentant, and has the ear of a Presidential hopeful. H/t, Dusty -the Armorer

About damn time. The US Navy and the Russian Navy are going after Somali pirates. As noted in the email from Kevin - "Millions for defense, not one penny for tribute." Heh. NATO has a few gunboats they could probably spare, too. -the Armorer

First - McCain is talking about CPL Stanley's bracelet in conjunction with two other things - that is active duty military in theater telling him they want to stay and win and re-enlistment in theater. McCain talks about these things to make his point that our military are not poor wretched "un-ed-u-macated" losers that have to be rescued from being used in an evil plot for world domination by "W" and Cheney. McCain is trying to make the overwhelming segment of Americans with no military ties see that our armed forces understand what is at stake. That they are committed to doing their duty in a dangerous world. That they can and should win in Iraq. That Iraq is won, but could be lost in a precipitous pull-out favored by many on the Left. CPL. Stanley's mother wants people to know that success in Iraq and leaving a stable ally in the ME when we go will be the greatest tribute to her son's sacrifice.
It is not "Vote for me because Gold Star mothers cry on my shoulder". Otherwise we could just pull all the Gold Star mothers into one convention center, take a vote and cancel the election in November. If that were the case then Obama's bracelet would be relevent. They could count up all the bracelets and we could get on with it.
That's not the point and I don't believe John McCain views his bracelet as a political tool.
The second thing you should not let slip in this discussion is that Obama couldn't come up with SGT Jopek's name immediately. Yes, we all slip. Yes McCain couldn't say "Imma-a-dinna-jacket" right away. But sometimes you slip because it's not an important fact. I don't believe for one second that Obama views the bracelet he was wearing in the same light that McCain views his. No way. You will never convince me that a man who never served.....a man with few friends in the military.....a man who can speak so recklessly about pulling the military out of Iraq, but putting them into Pakistan.....could feel what John McCain feels about that bracelet.
No way.
Obama is smart and he is smooth, but you don't vote the way he votes and talk the way he talks if you love & respect our military. It doesn't make you a bad person. I am simply stating that McCain and Obama do not have the same attitude about the military. I am saying that I completely believe, with all my heart, that McCain was making a sincere point about the military and their sacrifices in Iraq and in the war on terrorism. You are free to disagree with his point, but it is sincere. Obama was foolishly trying to fake it.

Are we surveying here?
Sex is the greatest earthly pleasure......but if you happen to have chocolate handy, all the better!
Ohhhhhhh..........M&Ms are my favorite.
I always wondered who the green, female M&M in the commercials was modeled after.... now I think I know.
This is a revelation. But Hershey Kisses would be a problem through a metal detectors.
M&M Mars is just down the road.
You know what I love even more than M&Ms and it's made by the Hershey people but without the tin foil......Hershey-ets. They are only available around here seasonally, Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day. I think that adds to their allure......anticipation.
