An Instapundit entry made me think of a song title:
"The Oprahbama Blues"
Now all we need are lyrics...
P.S. FWIW, I think Oprah is smart, funny, talented and very good at what she does. In fact she's probably the best. Also, I don't think she's any more sexist than the average left-leaning female celebrity, which is to say she gives off that faintly patronizing aura when discussing men and/or men/women issues. However, I do think she's leaving a false but nonetheless real impression that this isn't just about politics...it's about race.
Unfair? Mebbe...but try to see this through the "typical white person['s]" eyes, girl. If you don't know what that means, ask the man you endorsed. He seems to have it pretty well formed in his mind. Granted, he's tried to cover it up lately (by blaming his opponent for his own words and actions, past and present), but facts--and YouTube files--are stubborn things.
P.S. If Michael Steele were the GOP nominee, I'd vote for him in a second. Moreover, the reason conservatives are so excited about Palin is that FIRST AND FOREMOST she's a political soulmate to millions of middle-class Americans. The fact that she's an accomplished woman just gives us a delightful opportunity to turn the tables on the Left's self-righteous preening over identity that too often masks the lack of actual achievement. --Attila of Argghhh!
The ...ahh... gentlemen in question are no more than common third-world thugs.
As for Oprah's so-called fears, I suspect she is less concerned about comparisons to herself than she is comparisons between Barry and Sarah. Palin & McCain (err... McCain & Palin) have done a good job of inducing Barry to continuously shoot himself in the foot.
