A tease.

Just shameless.

powder grain, slow burn (no fluting on exterior surface)...

kinda hard to tell what scale w/o a quilted pink blankie behind it.

Pepper shaker from a 1889 mess kit

Stale Hydrox cookie.  You need to clean behind the cabinets more

I think Maggie's right but it might be a stale oreo with double stuff.

Now - This whatzit should propel erudite discussions to new heights.

Do they still make Hydrox?  I always was of the opinion, that they were far superior in taste and texture to that cheap emulation made by The National Biscuit Company.

This year is the 100th birthday of Hydrox and they are bringing out special packages to show them off. Oreo has not achieved this milestone yet. Only in America can you celebrate a cookies birthday. Got Milk?

The top view of a pepper shaker.

Or else the world's smallest carbine.

Boq: funny you (and Maggie) should mention it, but i just now had two Hydrox with my cup of coffee.  and they were yummy....

should the erudite discussion on this go much longer, i will need to charge 5 bags of them...

Since "powder grain" is already taken, I'll claim it's the cylinder for a new non-metallic micro-revolver, small enough to be worn on a charm bracelet or hidden in a clothing hem.  Made of molded carbon-fiber composite, it costs only $4.27 to manufacture, once the factory is tooled up.  The barrel has a rifled ceramic liner.
Chambered in .035 rimfire, it has a service life of approximately 50 rounds.  Accuracy when new is within 0.15 inch at 10 feet when fired from a machine rest, making it accurate enough for hunting large insects.

Eric - you spent a lot of time on that one, good job!

@ Eric... TEACHER'S PET.... harrumph.

Looks like some single base multi perforated powder grains.

If they are the humongous large size grain (about 1" diameter by 2" long) , then it would be the one for the USN16" guns.

I think they are the large ones (about 3/8" diameter) used in the Navy 8"/55 caliber guns, or maybe the USA 175mm gun.

If they are the smaller ones (about 3/16" diameter), then probably for the 105 Howitzer.  (Kinda relates back to the cute little 105mm sparkler cannon photo the other day).

I am sure you have samples of all those...... if not......

John-not-the-Armorer trades on insider knowledge!  Bad John!

Eric - don't let them bother you, the popular-but-not-bright kids always say that about the smart kids.

Ouch.  I'm going to be in the same room with her for hours this weekend.  I could pay dearly for that remark, if she comes back and catches it....

On further reflection, I was thinking you might be getting into the GyroJet ammunition business... but I see the propellant grain for those puppies had a single perforation.

Third thought: you got a fancy new camera, that highly-textured background is common writing paper, and it's rifle powder.  None of the extruded tubular powders I just looked at have multiple distinct perforations, though, so I can't proudly announce that it's IMRxxxx for any value of xxxx I have handy.

I do have a fancy new camera, but it's a video camera and I didn't use it for this shot.  This pic was taken with the same old Rebel EOS I've been using.

Fancy writing paper?  As if.  About the only writing I can do any more is sign my name on the check or credit slip.

It's MDF board sitting on the workbench down in the Armory.

I can't get the scale right on these anymore, since you quit including cat fur in the shot.

Ondol Briquette? Reminds me of the Charcoal fueled subfloor heating in Korea back in the day... But no one in this crowd ever stayed overnight in the ville so that is out.

Kevin (the The Kevin, for you others) - while you are right about me not being the type to stay overnight in the ville... we've a pretty eclectic crowd here!

You might be surprised how many ville-stayers lurk here.

OG is adashi too.
