This is the unsolicited reaction I got from a Kansas public servant who has worked for two state agencies... I am so excited about her that I can hardly focus on anything else! I can't wait to vote for her. FINALLY someone I like is running for President!!! Law predicted her too, but I thought it was simply wishful thinking because she is so good looking! And in 4-8 more years, she and Bobby Jindal will be the ticket! IF we can pull out of the economic tail spin we're currently in..... She spoke of her son's going to Iraq in Sept. What a great story she will be! I have high hopes, for once. Probably will not turn out the way I hope, but at least I can hope again for awhile. I said: Ooo. Can I publish that?

And with the authenticity thing... Palin resonates on a level that Hilary never touched.

John, I'm hearing the same thing from people who aren't crazy about McCain but are terrified of Obama as president (issues with his judgement, associates, ideology, naivete, etc.). They are absolutely giddy, and what they're responding to really political--it's that "authenticity" thing. She's the real deal and it just shines out of every pore.

I'm trying not to get too excited, but McCain's pick really floored me. Mostly because I thought Palin was being floated earlier on as a trial balloon and secondly because I thought we were going to end up with boring candidate number 2 in the VP slot.

The pick was simply a strategic move I didn't think McCain's campaign had in it, even though I was thinking it.

But, speaking of "reaction", you know I work with 80% women? Many of whom are at least somewhat "liberal". Guess what everyone is talking about?

Kat, I wouldn't go counting your gallus domesticus ova too soon. It took 55 days to lift the siege of the legations in Peking... it's 66 days to the election... a lot can happen.

Palin is the best VP for McCain.
She has more executive experience than Obama, Biden and McCain combined.
She fights corruption within the Republican Party.
She has put her personnal beliefs aside to follow the constitution and law - benefits and rights for gay couples.
She has bagged a moose before breakfast.
