 That clerk didn't even seem to notice the helmet or molle gear in KFC. What's up with that? I get weird looks just with open carry of my Glock here in the KFC in Halifax. I had one store owner today try to hire me as a security guard!

(I guess living in a war zone can affect your perception of normal, huh?)
 
Ah, on the Marine amphib vehicle: Fred Reed used to terrorize slightly-more-youthful-and-callow Marines than he was, when driving/navigating one of those things, by shouting "Dive! Dive! Dive!" It seems that the politics of Marines, and former Marines, are all over the map, but one thing they all seem to share is a low, nasty sense of humor.
