Local Military

Some folks might recall Sgt Danny Gilyeat, USMC, who lost his leg in Iraq.  On returning home, his wife left him with his four children.  Extreme Make Over redid Gilyeat's house.  Now friends went a little extra distance to help get Gilyeat back on his bike

Gilyeat could only stare in stunned surprise.

"You recognize it, Danny?" one of the mechanics shouted.

"Your bike, dude."

"We stole it from you."

In other news, August 7, Recruit Military will hold a career fair for Military Veterans and their Spouses at Kauffman Stadium.

This event, the RecruitMilitary Career Fair, will take place from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Kauffman Stadium, home of the Kansas City Royals. RecruitMilitary urges all job seekers who have military backgrounds to attend--veterans who already have civilian work experience, men and women who are transitioning from active duty to civilian life, members of the National Guard and reserves, and military spouses.

Glad for that; am reminded of a (paraparodyphrasing, here) Country and Western song: "Ya picked a fine time to leave me, Louise, Four hungry children and a short leg, no ease!"

They did this exact same thing with a Marine's truck that had sentimental value. They stole it from him and his wife reported it stolen, then they fixed it up and presented it to him in the form of a police officer asking for details on the 'robbery'.
