![Within hours of the brutal assassination of Benazir Bhutto officials in Pakistan and the US released news of intelligence intercepts linking Al Qaeda to the killing. The Asia Times Online quoted “al-Qaeda’s top commander for Afghanistan operations and spokesperson Mustafa Abu al-Yazid” who proclaimed in a telephone interview, 'We terminated the most precious American asset which vowed to defeat mujahidin.
