In this war, that's a lot of dead on our side for one fight.

Via Murray comes the rest of the story.

Unfortunately the story (down in New Zealand, where Murray lives) is all about him being the nephew of our defence minister. This is NOT a military tie as stated, Phil Goff never spent a day of his life in uniform and is best known for being pictured holding hands with arafat.

This is about one Lt Matthew Ferrara.
A good friend of mine has been supporting the 503rd since their arrival in AFG. They've been hit HARD.. and have had terrible living conditions. These men are still taking baby-wipe showers, 5 years into the war. It's just so sad. Leta takes every death very personal, just like we all would if one of "our" boys were to die. She even lost her main contact over there about a month ago. Please keep the 503rd in your prayers. DC Protest Warrior is keeping a close eye on them too.
If anyone wants more info on supporting the 503rd, please let me know. EM addy is correct and not some namby-pamby fake id.

I almost posted the story in H&I until I saw your post.

Afghanistan is going to become very harsh in the next few months. I hope we are preparing for that.
