                <![CDATA[The generosity of spirit with which he closed his remarks was striking to me, too.  I'm not sure I could've said such things aloud.  A stellar example of taking the high road when the situation required it.  

He delivered it so well that I could almost beleive there had to have been at least a <i>few</i> consciences pricked.]]>

                Well, Gen. Petraeus proved himself a much better gentleman than the so-called gentle-men and -women of Congress.  No surprise there, though.  He was even more generous than I would have expected.  D&apos;ya suppose any of them have enough shame left to realize how poorly they appear in comparison?
