<p>Staff Sergeant Jason M. Butkus, 34, died of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his vehicle Aug. 30 in Baghdad, Iraq.</p>

<p>Butkus was an infantryman assigned to 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. His home of record is West Milford, N.J.</p>

<p>He entered the Army in February 1995 and began serving with the 1st Infantry Division in October 2006. This was his first deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.</p>

<p>Specialist Rodney J. Johnson, 20, died of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit Sept. 4 in Baghdad, Iraq.</p>

<p>Johnson was a cavalry scout assigned to 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. His home of record is Houston.</p>

<p>He entered the Army in September 2005 and began serving with the 1st Infantry Division in March 2006. This was his first deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.</p>

<p>Three Fort Riley Soldiers died Sept. 4 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered from an improvised explosive device.  This is a double-whammy for Kansas, as two soldiers are from Kansas.</p>

<p>Killed were:<br />
	Sergeant Joel L. Murray, 26.<br />
	Specialist David J. Lane, 20.<br />
	Private Randol S. Shelton, 22.</p>

<p>Murray was an infantryman assigned to 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Divsion. His home of record is Kansas City, Kan. He entered the Army in January 2003, and he began serving with the in April 2006. This was his second deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.</p>

<p>Lane was an infantryman also assigned to 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Divsion. His home of record is Emporia, Kan. He entered the Army in February 2006, and he began serving with the 1st Infantry Division in July 2006. This was his first deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.</p>

<p>Shelton was an infantryman also assigned to 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Divsion His home of record is Schiller Park, Ill. He entered the Army in October 2005, and he began serving with the 1st Infantry Divsion in March 2006. This was his first deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.</p>

<p>To date, 130 Fort Riley Soldiers have died while serving in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom.</p>
