This one made me look twice.

I'm not used to seeing that machine gun on a HMMWV!

And I was trying to figure out why there was what looked like a BMP-2 turret on a LAV/Stryker. U, because it's not a LAV.

It's the Finnish Patria 8x8 AMV with the Oto Melara Hitfist 30P turret and 30mm ATK MK 44 gun. Cheers

Very cool, but that gun cehicle combo isn't that rarem the Iraqi army uses it a lot too. Try looking through some of the photo essasy at [link=http://www.defendamerica.mil]Defend America[/link] lots of very cool stuff there.

Where do you think I got it, Chris? Well, actually this one came from the DVIDS site, and my point still stands - it made me look twice, just as the AMV made Heartless look twice. You're the geek about things like this I *used* to be, but now have too many competing interests to keep up with being up on all the variants of all the military vehicles. I miss those days sometimes. Of course, if I quit spending 3 hours a day bloggin' and just read and surfed again, I could be that geek again! But I hired two slugs who hardly ever post any more (worth every penny I pay 'em, too) so I still gotta do what I do to feed the beast!
