I didn't think SpouseBuzz and Andi do, since Military.com runs (hosts?) SpouseBuzz and I believe Andi host her blog separately. And I thought Blackfive had the same server as some of the big political blogs, but they're all fine.

Not if they all use the same server. Andi's place and Spousebuzz do, I'm pretty sure.

Don't worry, Fuzzy - once they get the White House back, if the military starts repeating Democrat talking points, the military will be back to being apolitical again, and the brou-ha-ha will subside...

                Comrades,

There were, actually, Nuclear test Pilots. You can read about the program here:

http://www.cowtown.net/proweb/nb36h_jde.htm

The NB36H was a modified (one of two, I believe) B-36 used as a test bed for nuclear propulsion technologies. The idea was to build a nuclear-powered bomber that could go anywhere and drop anything. Interesting concept.

The 1950's is one of my favorite eras, aircraft-wise, because of all the cool ideas and test beds they developed.

     Respects,

Re: Walter Boyne as a "nuclear test pilot": I think this page clarifies it. He was a pilot in the 4925th Nuclear Test Group at Kirtland AFB, which was exactly what the name says: an air unit tasked with testing nuclear weapons. That mission included live drops of nuclear bombs. So, Boyne was a pilot on bombers that dropped nuclear weapons.

"Nuclear test pilot" is a really stupid way to say that, though.
