Randy J. Gillespie, 44, died of wounds suffered from small arms fire July 9 in Herat, Afghanistan. Gillespie was serving on a transition team that trained under and deployed from 1st Brigade, 1st Infantry Division. His home of record is Coaldale, Colo. Gillespie was assigned to the 56th Logistics Readiness Squadron at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz.
