Continuing the Whatzis.

Okay, as I expected, you guys figured out the Ideal loading tool.

But you had trouble with the second part.

Okay - here's more info.

Not that it will be all that helpful...

Not that it will be all that helpful - but who knows?

Well, Jim C knows, because he dropped by the office yesterday and forced me to reveal it - so he can't play this one anymore.

Suffice it to say it's *not* an early socket wrench, as he offered up!

I'm sorely tempted to float suggestions like a central set of jets for a five bbl. carburetor or multi-headed hash pipe, but I guess it's supposed to relate in some way to ordnance, yah? You can almost smell the desperation setting in....

I dunno is it a sizing tool? Doesn't look strong enough to be used for leverage and the spacing is atrocious.

Prolly time to mention... it's *not* a tool. It is ordnance related. Booms are involved. As in explosive events, not cranes.

well, whatever it WAS, it sure looks exploded now.

I'm gonna' guess a sort of manifolded blasting cap device or initiator. What do I mean by that?...I'm not sure myself, but it looks like it's meant to set off something in at least four different directions. Mine, maybe?

Doug - you're skating close as to purpose... but are 3200 out.

Well, let's go up then. Bomb initiator/fuse. One is the main, and maybe one lead in is from something barometric or sumsuch. "This is not a guess...really."

Hmm... A 'splitter' for detcord perhaps? As in, a way to turn one 'fuse' into four. Detcord being in essence a really fast fuse it seems reasonable that you'd need something like this to reliably join multiple strands together.

by Jove, i think he's got it! ..and if that ain't what it is, that's what it SHOULD be.

Snerk. You guys are gonna hate me. Which is how it should be.

Is it a device to seat a firing cap for ball and cap pistols/rifles?

Fuze setter for howitzers?

or perhaps a tilt switch for a mine, which different tripwires are attached to?
