Sergeant William W. Crow Jr., 28, was killed when the vehicle he was traveling in struck an improvised explosive device June 28 in Baghdad, Iraq.Sergeant Crow was an infantryman assigned to 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. His home of record is Grandview Plaza, Kansas.
He entered the Army in 2001 and began serving with the 1st Infantry Division in August 2002. This was his third deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
To date, 115 Fort Riley Soldiers have been killed while serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
