
1ST INFANTRY DIVISION SOLDIER KILLED IN IRAQPfc. Shawn D. Gajdos, 25, was killed when the vehicle he was traveling in came under attack by enemy forces using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire June 6 in Baghdad, Iraq.
Gadjos was an infantryman in 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division. His home of record is Grand Rapids, Mich.
He entered the Army in August 2005 and began serving with the 1st Infantry Division in December 2005. This was his first deployment in support of the Global War on Terrorism.
To date, 103 Fort Riley Soldiers have been killed while serving in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
He joins his comrades down at Fiddler's Green. He's probably sitting with the guys from June 6, 1944.
