Some more gun stuff (with the Dems in charge of Congress...)

...of course, I'm going to start out with a Republican - Mayor Bloomberg. You may or may not know about Bloomberg sending his law enforcers out into surrounding and beyond states, conducting illegal gun-buying activities (while trying to prove a point - just don't do this yourselves, boys and girls - cause *you'll* get arrested. He's also all pissy about a bit of law called the Tiahrt Amendment, which prohibits the disclosure of confidential firearm trace data except in the course of a bona fide criminal investigation. Y'see, Mayor Mike wants to be able to pretty much just go fishing in the records. Many LEO organizations have come out in favor of the law, because they are concerned that if Nurse Bloomberg gets his way, it will actually hamper law enforcement, however much it might keep His Mayoralty happy. One such organization would be the Fraternal Order of Police... representing 308,000 LEOs out of the 740,000 or so currently sworn. Mayor Bloomberg's response? "It's just one fringe organization."

Then there's this from the NRA:

KANSAS: Update on Greensburg, Kansas! Last week we reported that we were investigating reports of firearm confiscations in Greenburg, KS following the deadly tornado that ravaged the town. After investigating complaints, there was no evidence of any illegal gun confiscations or seizures. However, there were firearms recovered by law enforcement that are now in the process of being returned. Gun owners whose firearms were recovered by area law enforcement may claim them at the "gun trailer", located east of Davis Park on the north side of U.S. 54. The trailer is open from 10:00am until 4:00pm Monday through Friday until all firearms are returned.

I'm pretty sure where they got this info. Did I get a thank-you? Nope. 8^ )
