if you examine the gnaw-marks, it looks like it was a toy for the Moat Monster back when it was just a polliwog and teething.

With the flanged waist it looks like some sort of airgun pellet.

It looks a LOT like a cs grenade for an M-203 or an M-79.

Looks like a 40, of some type. Length looks more like a 79 than a 203. Which, of course, is too easy, and therefore must be wrong.
