First up - this is why people can put up with some of the stupid stuff that comes with being in the military. The job is anything but ordinary (though I admit, why people *enlist* and make a career out of Finance and Personnel Administration is beyond me).

U.S. Marines drive an Amphibious Assault Vehicle as it tows another vehicle from Camp Schwab, Okinawa, to amphibious transport dock ship USS Juneau (LPD 10) under way in the Pacific Ocean on May 21, 2007. I would note the unwitting irony here. The vehicle being towed in - or 'recovered'... is an AAVR7A1 - an Armored Assault Vehicle, Recovery... The slightly jarring thing for this Army guy is the fact that the towed vehicle has people in it. We don't do that. Of course, being at sea is a different kettle of fish - you aren't likely to be in a run-away vehicle careening downhill headed for an orphanage, and if the towed vehicle failed in the water, and both have full crews and troops in the first one - there might well not be room, and jumping from AAV to AAV just might not be the safest thing to do when the depth is hundreds of feet under the hull...

Custom-made, but still pretty cheep. Schweeeet!

Now the Armorer has a ready-rack in the Armorer's Den, ready to annoy GFW's by its mere existence.

Well, the President was caught driving without his seatbelt fastened. There must be some connection between that and the unmitigated failure of his Iraq 'adventure', and his refusal to admit to using concaine before his debates with VPresident Gore, who really won the 2000 election, and whose magnanimous efforts to save the world from catastrophic climate change are being gravely hindered by the President's refusal to understand the realities of GCW demonstrated by his refusal to wear a seatbelt. HL - yes, it is. I'm contemplating getting a semi. The "frenchie" is a MAS 49/56. I've a 49, as well, though it's the Syrian version with the integral bayonet. Yes, my Finn KVT-40 is there (it has the bayonet) the SVT has the scope. There's a Romanian AK in there, too. The SMLE is and isn't what you thinnk - you can be forgiven for your ID, as it's a hybrid and you can't see the receiver. It's actually a MkV in MkIII wood. I got that from frequent commenter John S, some years ago. But how did you miss noting the Winchester M1?

they have the tow cables crossed too. i would be leery of the constant pull/tug with the whole floatie thing going on.
