Denizen Murray is openly selling WMDs over the Internet, and doesn't care who knows about it. In fact, the more who know about it and act upon it - the happier he's going to be. Always looking for additions to the Arsenal, we find his WMDs, intriguing.

Bill at Diabetic Recipes has this week's Carnival of the Recipes up for our perusal at his place. This issue is full of recipes suitable for diabetics (or anyone wanting to slim down this summer). -the Armorer

Rusty of My Pet Jawa scores a fatwa!. As do Jules Crittenden and Tim Blair. I'm *such* a squish nobody notices us. Hmmm. That's good, I think, all things considered, since I'm not making a living at this, despite our recent uptick in traffic. -the Armorer

Well, I didn't get a fatwa, but I did get to interview two veterans, one from Korea and one from World War II (update: not Vietnam), regarding their service and some unique history that was being lost and is suddenly being found again. Walking and Talking with History.
Also, for those in the KC area (or within driving of motorcycle/car distance), KC Soldiers' Angels and the American Legion Riders are joining wings and wheels for Operation Aces High: Poker Run for the Troops, June 3, 2007. The funds from this poker run will be used to benefit wounded troops at Walter Reed, Landstuhl in Germany and various other locations around the US and in theater by providing First Response Back Packs.
For more information, go to Operation Aces High.

A term of art from the artillery. Harassment and Interdiction Fires.
Back in the day, when you could just kill people and break things without a note from a lawyer, they were pre-planned, but to the enemy, random, fires at known gathering points, road junctions, Main Supply Routes, assembly areas, etc - to keep the bad guy nervous that the world around him might start exploding at any minute.
*Not really relevant to today's operating environment, right? But, it *is*
The UAVs (oops, can't call 'em UAVs anymore - they're now Unmanned Aerial Systems... some Colonel got his Legion of Merit for that change...), er, um UAS's we fly over Afghanistan and Pakistan looking for targets of opportunity are a form of H&I fires, if you really want to parse it finely. We just have better sensors and fire control now.
I call the post that because it's random things posted by me and people I've given posting privileges to. It's also an open trackback, so if (Don Surber uses it this way a lot) someone has a post they're proud of, but it really isn't either Castle kind of stuff, or topical to a particular post, I've basically given blanket permission to use that post for that purpose. Another term of art that might be appropriate is "Free Fire Zone".
