What's on the minds and blogs of the Denizens of Argghhh! (them what blogs, anyway).
Adjutant Barb applauds a school board's decision to restrict the showing of a gore film. But requires alternative views be presented? Hee! I guess capitalization and punctuation *do* matter.
AFSis does a little travelogging and puts herself in American Soldier's shoes.
Trias gives his view of the Bush Plan.
Cassandra wonders why we do what we do...
Syrup-swilling Alan on the SOTU.
Murray has his own flag-related fetishes... much like Tim Blair's. Ah, [cue music] "Living in a land down under..."
Jack - on words.
Castle Essayist Kat is back - on the Dem's Plan for Terrorism.
Sergeant B, back in uniform (with a pic!) gives us drill stories...
There are many Denizens who haven't posted in a while. Slackers. -the Armorer

Heh. Two bloggers who have lived a mile apart for what, two years?... finally meet. I wasn't invited. It was a gurl thang. -the Armorer.

Today is Keewee's 60th Birthday! She's the wife of noted gunblogger Mr. Completely.
SWWBO and I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Completely and Keewee last fall at the Gunbloggers Rendevous and shoot in Reno. So, Happy Birthday, Keewee - and here is to another 60 years! -the Armorer

Iraqi authorities: 250 extremists killed. Well, it's a start. -the Armorer

*A term of art from the artillery. Harassment and Interdiction Fires.
Back in the day, when you could just kill people and break things without a note from a lawyer, they were pre-planned, but to the enemy, random, fires at known gathering points, road junctions, Main Supply Routes, assembly areas, etc - to keep the bad guy nervous that the world around him might start exploding at any minute.
Not really relevant to today's operating environment, right? But, it *is*
The UAVs we fly over Afghanistan and Pakistan looking for targets of opportunity are a form of H&I fires, if you really want to parse it finely. We just have better sensors and fire control now.
I call the post that because it's random things posted by me and people I've given posting privileges to. It's also an open trackback, so if (Don Surber uses it this way a lot) someone has a post they're proud of, but it really isn't either Castle kind of stuff, or topical to a particular post, I've basically given blanket permission to use that post for that purpose. Another term of art that might be appropriate is "Free Fire Zone".

Heh. You wouldn't want to see what I'd write if I was posting right now. The lack of posting is a public service. :P
*flounces off to find some booze*
Heh, I actually wasn't referring to you... there are some who haven't posted in weeks. You, we've linked this week...
Well, I haven't posted since the morning of the 25th 'cause I've got nothing good to say. And for someone who usually has a lot to say, that's a long break.
I've run out of submissions for my "Weekly Web Focus" shtick that I was doing every Sunday
BAH
Come on Fuzzy, I'll fix you up. *starts up the 'ritamatic.* Where should we go? Where are the sailors? I bet there's plenty in Sandy Eggo. We'll find a comfy bar stool and sit and enjoy the attention. Nothing takes your mind off your troubles like the attention of a sailor.
Good round-up John. Following Cassandra's link also led to a post over at Badgers Forward that was very interesting.
My first post i think but it should be the first of many
If this is your first, Spurwing, then someone else has been here with that name before you!
And that email address. In fact, 15 times since September 25, 2005.
We know everything...
You don't know what colour the Oz flag is supposed to be.
Well, heck even I know that...
Rectangle, bisected twice, catecorners, cyan in the west triangle, blue in the north, white in the east, and magenta in the south, with a 1/3rd height five pointed green star, centered. Like this one here.
Or did you mean that other Oz,
:-)
Murray - eh?
As for the Red Ensign bits - it's all *supposed* to hearken back to the past, not the present.
I suspect we're being set-up, Sanger.
"...them what blogs, anyway..."
Ow! that stings!
Ok, almost had a post the other day, but got distracted, and Blogger was actin' up, and I had to talk to some people, and the cats needed attention, and I only got the damn' Blogger account in the first place to comment at Miss Baggs' place, and I was talking on the telephone with a woman, and I'm thinking about how to organize changing the oil in my truck, and I really need to sit down with the checkbook and the bills, and the weather has been kinda unpredictable lately, and I have this pain in the big toe of my starboard foot where I injured it with the motorcycle years ago, and did you know that when you get old, the white beard hairs get tougher, and the skin gets tenderer, which means you have to be more careful when shaving, and... and... well, hell, I got lotsa excuses, and they're all 100% sincere.
