Marcia Conley, Regional Team Leader for Kansas and Missouri sent this message on January 15: Hi Angels this was on the forum today and I know some of you contribute blankets of hope, phone cards, toiletries, clothing, etc for the transitional back packs so I thought I would send this out so you can see how much those back packs mean. :-) Marcia Hi, I was recently wounded in combat in Iraq..It was a pretty good hit and when I was medevac'd obviously I didnt get to grab some important items:) I woke up the next day and had nothing...

Dang, I bet that hurt! Time to send more money, I reckon, with a note suggesting to buy a wider range of t-shirt and pajama sizes. All I can do, really.

Well, no, there's also the Kitchen Table Gang.

Yep. I shall return - to quote you know who.

I plan on getting a digital camera so I can take some photos of our SA activities and other interesting things.

Can't wait. I just have to make sure the excitement doesn't turn to over indulgence again.

Does this mean a return of 'Middle Ground'? I lost my password to post stuff there when I had to reformat during the summer and haven't been able to inflict myself on your readership, Kat. I'd be right pleased if you did start that up again, even if at 1/8 the volume of the past.

I'm in SA's, but I've never looked through the forum. I'll have to figure out how to do that.

AFSis, I believe we did have an active group in your state at one time, but I don't know how close they are to you. You really gotta join the SA forum to see everything that is going on. That's where the real synergy is. You don't have to take a leadership position to get some informal gatherings going and encouraging one another in small troop support stuff or large. If you need directions, e-mail me, and I'll hook ya up.

I appreciate the offer. Now that I have a job and income, I am planning to buy a new computer. I actually had planned to buy it this weekend, but the car decided that it needed a new water pump. So, just two more weeks I think and I'll have a machine.

But, I really, really appreciate the offer.

And thanks John for posting this.

AFSis, he's right, you can start one in your area. Marcia just started us up last week. I think SA will even help you buy giving you the contact information for SA people in your area. Probably a bunch of people that, like you, don't even know that SA people are in their area either.

But, you know you can always go to the site and just donate directly.

yeah... i'll get on that John. just as soon as i figure out how to juggle a full-time job, being a single mom, a single homeowner, and the FRG rep for Keith's unit.
*sigh*

there just isn't enough hours in the day for me to start something like that, but i would participate in an existing group.
