Why electric? Because we only need to use it 2 - 3 times a year. Didn't need it at all last year. Electrons don't go bad sitting in the tank that long. What if the power's out? That's what the generator is for (among other things). This works well enough. Yeah, blowers can clog in the wet heavy stuff but a big two stage seldom clogs if you keep moving. I sympathize with the city plow problem. My boulevard is only a foot wide and the city pretty much fills my sidewalk every time they come through.
