4chan's an internet board/forum patterned after the japanese 2chan. /k/ refers to the weapons board, Which holds some people with background akin to yours, on active duty or serouis hobbiests too. But CounterStrike "DesertEagles are the bestest evar", various fans of anime guns and "Katana is the bestest weapon ever" Types litter the board too. And that particular motivator was posted there months ago. As for the other boards.. some probably will blow your moral tolerance.

To be honest, I didn't know where I found those. I do a lot of surfing for various things related to what I write and to school, and I accumulate a lot of detritus along the way that I save off to a catch-all folder for later review. I usually toss about 90% of what I save upon closer inspection--a lot of what I collected that night went in the trashbin. Believe it or not, though, I started out that evening looking for immigration-related images and resources (thesis fodder), and followed a number of links through all sorts of strange places and ended up at an \index of images, not a BBS or webpage--these were text links, not pictures. It might have been what you say, but I couldn't honestly tell you for sure, nor how to get back to that. Funny, that.
