Hey! Whattaya want for Christmas?

This is a Denizen Post, so Denizens can put their answers in here, not just the comments. I think I'm going to leave it up top for a few days. Maybe even *through* to Christmas, just to give people who only check in once a week or so a chance. Boquisucio sent this email to plant the seed: Hello Boss, With 12 days 'til X-Mass, I wonder what the denizens out there would like for Christmas. I for one would say: Oh Santa - for Christmas, I wanna' Sig Sauer .40 S&W Two-Tone SP-2022 with SIGLITE Night Sights, please-please-pleeeease!...

Hummm, a retired Marine 'Nam era will do nicely, Santa - LOL.

Seriously, though. I'm good! The Marine!Goth is home on predeployment leave. My mom/his grandma is gradually recovering from the stroke that made me do my first ever Red Cross notification (yes, it was that scary at first and I 'bout gave the MG a heart attack. Having the Top pull you in from the field and tell you "See the Chaplain, you've had a Red Cross call" is a NOT good thing). The job is good, the car is running. There's a little money in the bank, a little rum in the punch and really, everything is as it should be in my neck of the woods.

Everybody have a safe and happy holiday!!!

I'd like the power to be turned back on at home ;-)
But I'm glad that my house wasn't thumped by falling trees and my neighborhood was relatively untouched. Lotsa folks here in the outer regions around Seattle are still without power still, and may be for a couple days longer.

Well...I know what I want, but since that isn't possible until the Almighty sees fit, I will say that I want to be aware of my blessings, grateful for them and the wisdom to live in the moment so we can finish raising our family.

That and some snow.

Dear Santa! I heard something kinda like this on Bob and Tom this morning! Lets see what I can do...

Dear Santa, my names Bob in west Virginia. I want a Remington 700 with 20x scope, synthetic stock, custom barrel, and a laser range finder. I also a big boat, and a plane so I can go hunting when I want, where I want!

Dear Santa, My names Private Billy in Iraq. I want a stick. So I can thump Achmed in the head when hes trying to kill me. Because the US government won't let me shoot these Terrorist SOBs with this M-16 they gave me.

Merry Christmas ya'll

I would like a better answer to my daughter's comment that she misses her daddy besides "me too, baby. Me too." *sigh*

A winning lottery ticket would be nice. I'm not greedy - 5 zeros would be acceptable. A fast forward button on life? That would be kind of nice. Just to get us to July-ish.

I'd like to not be a single parent for a little while. I'd like to sleep the sleep that you sleep when you're not the ONLY adult in the house, responsible for the health, welfare, and spiritual guidance of 2 children who depend on you wholeheartedly. I'd like to have someone to sit with on the couch at the end of the day and just BE with. I'd like to have someone here to help me put up Christmas decorations.

Honestly, though, I do not want for much. My family is safe (relatively speaking) and healthy (well, physically at least!). We have a good church family here and good friends throughout the world that love us and pray for us like we love them and pray for them. We have a roof over our heads, food on the table, and the freedom to do as we please. That pretty much covers it.

Though snow would be nice ;~) Gosh, I miss snow!!!

                All I want for Christmas?
I want to make sure everyone knows just how much I appreciate ALL the support for Operation Santa/Bethesda and Walter Reed. We not only met our modest goal of $3000 but have exceeded it by a good measure. THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!

I want FbL to find a paying job in the troop support sector.

I want Cassandra to have an extra three hours a day just for her.

I want Watt (aka Stubby) to feel better.

I want Grim to have whatever it is he is wishing for.

I want Deb to have a merry Christmas with her boy home from Iraq.

That's not so much, is it?

                1. Optimally, a civilly-certified Lockheed Hercules (they do exist) with a guaranteed 40-year supply of fuel, spares, maintenance etc. and a paid staff of three pilots, two flight engineers and one business manager, with their employment guaranteed through retirement.

This would be so much more way cool than some kinda effete G5.
Can you jump from a G5? No.
Can you put your truck and your boat trailer in a G5? No.
Can you bolt some lawn chairs to the ramp of the G5 and fly along with the ramp open, tossing empty beer cans out the back? No.

2. More realistically, a nice not-shot-much Savage 99 in .250-3000 with the rotary magazine.

3. My two front teeth. (the ones with the failed root-canal jobs, which are crumbling away)

How about sitting on the couch with the love of my life in my arms, all of the lights out except the twinkling of the Christmas tree, 'Silent Night' playing on the stereo? What could be better....?

I want an FN SCAR-H, with both CQB and SDM barrels, plus a double basic load of mags.

Of course, I'm not allowed to have one of those in WA, but I'd settle for a semi-only version.

A pallet of 7.62x51 to go with it would be nice, too.

Actually, what I really want right now is to have my power back on.

A Taurus PT1911 in blue steel would make me very happy this year. I don't see it happening though. A shooting bench to go under my varmit rifle would be nice and is much more likely.

Just don't look pretty anymore. *shrug* Add a Bushnell 3-9x50MM Scope along with a sling and hard case and we're in business.

Yea I know Leupold's better, but thats sort like putting a Cadillac on retread tire's. The scope is worth more than the rifle, and I'm looking for hunting equipment here. Of the Deer variety.

I'll join Marvin over in the corner. I'd wish for a job for Christmas, but I don't think that'd work any better than actively searching for one.
