Seriously wounded Soldiers arriving at Ramstein Air Base, Germany, are loaded aboard an ambulance bus and escorted to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center by members of LRMCs Deployed Warrior Medical Management Center. Photo by Heike Hasenauer March 20, 2006 First Andi: Christmas For Our Wounded Heroes Last Christmas my husband was deployed, so I decided to spend Christmas Day at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. I left the hospital more blessed than when I had entered. The father of one of our wounded troops told me that he saw exactly what he wanted to see on Christmas Day in Ward...

Carrie, I don't think there's any reason to flinch. As I wrote last year after the hurricanes, the need (in that case, for Valour-IT, but in this case it's for Christmas gifts) continues. This is true of making sure the Troops get as wonderful a Christmas as possible, too. So hold your head high in this great endeavor and point out that they deserve our greatest support and at least a modicum of sacrifice on our part. :)

John - thanks so much for calling attention to this worthy project. We sincerely appreciate your call to action, and your donation. Each donation brings us closer to our goal and will ensure that hundreds of wounded heroes receive some Christmas cheer this Christmas.

Thanks, again.

                John,
Words can't express how grateful we all are for the post and the donation.
I know that everyone dug deep for Valour IT and I grimace a little as I ask for assistance so close to the end of that very worthy funddrive.
I just can't postpone Christmas.
It's December 25th no matter what else has happened.
So..thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

John, thank you so much for posting this. We're down to the wire on this - last packing party this weekend and we're still 1,000 Marines short of our goal. Carrie has done an incredible job with the Bethesda and Walter Reed Marines, and overall, Operation Santa 2006 will ship more than 16,000 stockings to Marines still deployed in Iraq. We appreciate your donation and your post more than you know.

Deb
