OK, I search Army and AF PAO image sites...where do I find this particular pic?

Because I'm certain that there's a bunch of AK owners, myself included, who'd be interested in such a mount.

It's not using the standard mount on the left side of the receiver.

When I was colocated with a bunch of eastern bloc soldiers a while back one thing I noticed was how they seemed to adopt a lot of the US doctrine gun handling as well as weapons accessories. I took it as imitation being the highest form of flattery.

Dave - looking at the hi-res picture, it looks like the sight is on a rigid mount that anchors to the receiver at the rear, and the trunnion block up front - i.e., not on the cover at all.

We must be bribing them with EOTech sights...no soldier can resist cool toys like that (although, admittedly, they're about #3 on the list of irresistable things, after hot chix and free beer.)

Be interesting to learn how they lock down the receiver cover on that AK variant, so the CCO mounted up top doesn't wobble all over.

Oh, and based on the curve of the mag, it looks like that's a 5.56mm AK.

But John! I thought we were all alone in Irak... without any support from our allies. Just those big, oppressive United States bullies, invading someone's country, and imposing democracy on them. Shame on us....

NOT.
