Boccia's father used to teach at the local community college in Jacksonville, NC. I took his class one Fall semester. He was a nice old guy with a sense of humor and gift for teaching math to the mathematically impaired. He always wrote on the blackboard facing us (kind of writing behind himself) because as he said 'he'd taught in the NYC public school system for over 30 years and you didn't survive if you turned your back on the class.' On that 22nd of October, he didn't seem so happy and he told us that he wouldn't be in the next day. That he had lost his son in Beirut and he wanted us to go home that night and hug our loved ones close because you just never know what the future holds.
