...but, frankly, this headline cheered me up. 8 killed in Hamas-Fatah fighting in Gaza. The fighting continued throughout the day and sent schoolchildren and other civilians in downtown Gaza City fleeing for cover. "This is forbidden in Islam, we are in the holy month of Ramadan," said Majed Badawi, 33, who managed to escape after his car was caught in the crossfire. "It's a shame on Hamas, who call themselves real Muslims, and a shame of Fatah as well. Why are they fighting and over what? We are victims because of both of them." C'mon, Majed - we both know...

John -- Boy, you hit the nail on the head.

Anyway, it is my observation that the "Holy Month of Ramadan" isn't a fast at all, just the whole region goes on Swing Shift for a month, although most do actually give up alcohol during Ramadan (hedging their bets, I suppose). Before the jerks blew up Khobar, we airmen who were constantly deploying there for Southern Watch, enjoyed the fact that during Ramadan their was no waiting to get through the border to Bahrain like the rest of the year when all of the pious Saudis were making their "run for the border" to get juiced up and then puke on the border guards on the way back through (personal observation on several occasions).

Anyway, I guess it was kewl that we could go to KFC at 0300 during Ramadan...
