                Yeah, but they&apos;ve tossed those naming, and numbering, conventions aside for a/c carriers and subs when it suited them.  (having donned my Castle Contrarian Corps Cap).

I&apos;ll give them props though.  They didn&apos;t allow this to become a political fiasco while still honoring Smith.  Had they named the boat after him it could very well have caused protests at the launching and christening ceremonies by groups like Raging Grannies or Code Pink, just to name a few(and they&apos;ve gone on the attack at the sub pens in WA, Owen.).  Why must we make everything into a circus if we don&apos;t have to?  

Good for you Navy.
