It ran alongside the golf course for a good bit. I was driving along it one Sunday around noon with a friend of mine who was stationed there with the Quarter Cav. :PLONGGGGGG: Something hit the truck like the trump o' doom. I pulled over, thinking *I*'d hit something. We looked over the tires, looked under the undercarriage to see if I'd snagged something, popped the hood and checked radiator and belts (remember this is c 1978 and we were two young ladies in their Sunday go to meeting best). Pretty soon, there's this sheepish shout from the golf course. "M'am, I think that incoming round was my golf ball."
