Huh. The world didn't stop while I was gone.

Worse, it doesn't seem to have noticed I wasn't there.

In more News You Won't See in the MSM:

COALITION FORCES CAPTURE FIVE TERRORISTS

COALITION FORCES SUCCESSFULLY TARGET TERRORIST IN BAGHDAD

COALITION FORCES CAPTURE WANTED TERRORIST LEADER

COALITION FORCES DETAIN TWO SENIOR AL-QAIDA IN IRAQ LEADERS

Just click the titles to go to the stories. I've got to get back on my head - but I thought you'd like the pic!

It's swimming against the bad news the MSM does report - but since they report that and very little of the rest... I'll take that niche.

Always glad to see soldiers doing good deeds. I have to say, however, that it's somewhat sad to see the Major wearing a helmet while the two little girls beside her aren't. I wonder how much the dehumanizing aspects of combat kit affect the 'hearts and minds' mission?

A subject of much discussion. One the Brits made pointed references to. This would be the same beret-wearing Brits who don't move around Basra all that much anymore.

"This would be the same beret-wearing Brits who don't move around Basra all that much anymore." I'm a working on a post about that one(based on that op-ed you sent me). Don't ruin it. (Like a souffles it'll turn to crap if you open the oven before it's done or make loud noises).

[Stomps in the kitchen] Hey ry whatcha cookin'? [opens oven] Gee your cake is deflating what did you do wrong? Good work on the postive news. One of my main gripes with the war is so little postive news is reported in world mainstream media. In a way I guess blogs balance that.

We're having problems with semi-competent captioners over here again. Actually, MAJ Bailey works in the 101st Abn Div G4, where I am currently hanging my hat. Her desk is about 15 feet where I'm sitting as I type this, and the "misrepresentation" of her unit in the official caption on the picture has been a source of some amusement in our workspace for the past couple of days. She's a nice lady, and is pretty durned good at what she does, which being the division-level aviation maintenance staff officer. And in defense of the caption writier, the civil action mission on which MAJ Bailey was photographed WAS organized and led by the 402nd CA.

Sigh. Well, at least we can fix *that* much at *this* site!

GI Jane take your hat off. A wonder she's not wearing a row of grenades for the camera. I'm sure the bundled up Major left a lasting impression. Love it when the bunker humpers do their PR bit.

Draftee - got some issues, do we?
