Dog Haiku

From the Adjutant, via email:

I love my master;
Thus I perfume myself with
This long-rotten squirrel.

I lie belly-up
In the sunshine, happier than
You ever will be

Today I sniffed
Many dog behinds-I celebrate
By kissing your face.

I sound the alarm!
Paper boy-come to kill us all-
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!

I sound the alarm!
Garbage man-come to kill us all-
Look! Look! Look! Look! Look!

I lift my leg and
Whiz on each bush. Hello, Spot-
Sniff this and weep

More to follow.

Ah - Be like the car chaser, not. Always chasing and barking, inches away from its prize. Alas, he leads a life 'ever in fear. Though so near his life's goal, he'll never nip the tire, in an existential fear of, what his life'll require, from him next.

Things you depend on: Thumping tail at the day's end. Soft nose in your hand.

My God, but that's beautiful. Not like all them cats.

Lex... You obviously haven't been around the proper sort of Kitten..... *swishes tail and saunters back into Jungle Room, winking at Lex*
