And now for something completely different.

Let's see how many aircraft grognards still hang out around here. There used to be quite a few, though I've been neglecting them of late, what with my Navy and ordnance kick. Last time I ran a "Name this cockpit" post, it took, oh about 15 minutes. But that was on a workday. Lessee how long it takes today. Hi-res version here....

It is the cockpit of Luke Skywalker's X-wing fighter, used by the rebel alliance against the Russian Empire.

Or Darth Vader's TIE fighter...or Anakin's pod racer...oooh the possibilities are endless.

Hardly a challenge for them huh. Next time take a snap of the dirt on the floor or something maybe drag it out to 30 mins.

I agree. It is the cockpit of a TempestV. Oddly enough the best picture I could find of the cockpit was from a flight simulator game site.

                Comrades,

I'll vote for a Tempest.... used what was basically a Spitfire attitude instrument panel in the center section, which is why you have a rounded-edged panel mounted over a rectangular cut-out.

see here: http://www.dbalsa.com/cockpits/typhoon_tempest.htm

I'd say that looks like a Spitfire cockpit. If you look closely at the left side of the picture, you can just see the edge of what appears to be the pilot access door.

No, I don't think it's a Typhoon/Tempest either. Have to leave for work, so I'll stick with Fury for now. ;)

No, it's not a Hurrie. I was going to say Fury myself, but maybe a Tempest.

                It's definitely WW2 Brit - I'd say a Spitfire or possibly a Typhoon.
