Things that make me go, "Hunh."

I use a spam blocker. Frustrated with a recent onslaught of spam for ci@lis, I took a brute force approach and just added ci@lis to the block list.

Which caused Ry no end of frustration this weekend, trying to post a comment in his chat with Trias in the comments to this post (a fun discussion if you've not been following it).

"Yeah, so?" I can hear your fingertips drumming in the desk.

It blocked the comment because of the word "socialism" in Ry's comment.

There's a joke in there, somewhere...

Actually, it was Somalia that was the problem. Turned me into Donald Duck on my end. And what's so funny about my convo with Trias? Am I making huge mental errors yet again? Layeth the smaketh downeth, John.

One of the bayonet-collecting sites I frequent has a blocker which makes it difficult to discuss arsenal markings... sheesh, lotta prudes out there!

Yes go on we're men we can take it {pulls up nappy} I've had problems with sent and received emails (that i'm aware of blissfully don't know about more) due to spam blockers. Taking about money or using capitals seems to set off a lot of them. Translation for the Paranoid: It was their evil plan to send truth* and hence block ry's mind control signals consolidating my righteous position as Fuhrer of the Illumantimafiaaliennewworldorder. *these products really do make you bigger! We are watching you.

No, it was Somalia (the drug "soma") *and* ci@lis. You just didn't know that because Somalia stopped it first. When I fixed that problem, *then* socialism reared it's ugly little head. It's not all about you, Ry. 8^ D

It blocked the comment because of the word "Socialism" in Ry's comment. There's a joke in there somewhere... OK, since no one else is saying it: Socialism has to be propped up somehow.

Heh. I didn't even make the connection when the spam-elf rejected my post for som_a, I just made the word Som_a_lia. Funny though, I didn't connect it to the modern drug, but to the drug mentioned in Huxley's Brave New World, which is what the "masses" were given to keep them sheepish... I wonder if masses will get through?
