    <summary> June 2, 2006 — Military sources told ABC News that there are likely to be charges filed against officers up the chain of command in connection with the killing of 24 civilians by U.S. Marines in Haditha, Iraq, in November 2005. Those who could be charged include senior officers who were not on the scene at the time of the killing but should have known something wrong had happened and done something about it. All I have to say is - good. Let &apos;em defend themselves, and if they fail the test, let us put them away from us....</summary>

<p>All I have to say is - good.  Let 'em defend themselves, and if they fail the test, let us put them away from us.  Toss the bad apples.</p>

<p>And the rest of us will get about our duties, doing the best we can to make this work.</p>

<p>Leader scalps are *always* good.  No railroads.  No rush to judgement.  But if they're guilty - whack 'em with the book.</p>

I guess I&apos;ll buy off on this with the qualifiers you added in. I wish I had more confidence in the &apos;no railroads&apos; factor, however. Be that as it may, the old &quot;it happened on your watch&quot; still applies.

I just hate to see that so selectively applied after Abu Ghuraib and Mzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Karpinski.
