I can't remeber the name it was bat wing or manta ray , but it was an expermental aircraft to test the limit of streamlining, it's engines were underpowered so it never lived up to expectations.

Rod has it- the McDonnell XP-67 long-range fighter. Only one prototype built; notorious for handling problems. The prototype was damaged in late '44 (fire, IIRC)and the project was abandoned. Neat looking ship...

McDonnell XP-67. If it had the specified performance it would have been the ultimate nightmare for enemy bomber crews as it had a battery of 6 x 37mm cannon. As a previous poster pointed out it had stability and engine problems and was cancelled.

What's scary is how close Murray is to normalcy when you compare him to some of the others who drop in. *blink* *blink* *blink* Why are you looking at me in that tone of voice?
