You *really* want to honor a Vet? Then do this. Donate. Again, if you have already. So more scenes like this can happen. It's a tax-deductible donation and eligible for matching funds from companies who do that sort of thing (see:http://soldiersangels.org/valour/irsinfo.html for proof for the cautious) The snail mail address for those who'd rather donate that way (scroll down at:http://soldiersangels.org/valour/donate.html). ...We few, we happy few, we band of brothers, for he who sheds his blood with me shall be my brother...

Bless with a hard heart, those who surround me,
Bless the women and children, who firm our hands,
Put our backs to the North wind, hold fast by the river,
Sweet memories to drive us on, for the Motherland...

Sorry, I have no idea what my url is. I spent the day dropping my girlfriend off at the airport, going to the gym and stopping by the PX to do some shopping. I was a squid when it was quiet so I don't think about it much. I still work for Uncle but live some place where that's not really popular right this minute, so I didn't really think about why I had the day off today. Then I read you comments and watched "a Pittance of Time". Thanks, I have to call my Dad now.

Thank you for your tribute! It made me cry and remember my dad (a WWII vet who served on Tinian in the Army Air Corps.). I loved Dad's pictures of the vegetable garden he grew and the planes -- Foxy Lady was one of my favorites.

God Bless our veterans and those serving in the military.

I knew all those folks you wrote about, I'm related to some of them, I've lived with and worked with and for others. Recently, I joined Kiwanis. One of the fellows wears a CIB he got in ETO, was telling me last week about the Battle of the Bulge, where he was. . . Most others of them are vets too. . . We'll be doing flags today.

Just well said....
