Because you, of all people, will appreciate a picture of a literally mindless soldier doing mindless work... operating a belt-filling machine.

Now is the time at Castle Argghhh! when we dance: In Memoriam of a Veteran of the 20th Air Force, Saipan. Load a drum for me, Sergeant.

And no, everybody, it isn't someone you know. There are at least a few degrees of separation for most of you.

Thank you for the pictures. You are right about many of us do not understand. I don't even know when those guns were used! It doesn't stop me from loving and honoring the men and women of our Military that took that extra effort, that extra gut check, that extra willingness to keep us free. To all of you, May God be with you, and may you never run out of ammo!

Oops. Sorry about that.

No worries, Rosemary - it's the famous "Echo in the Great Hall of Argghhh!"

lol. Thank you. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Isn't it a requirement that you double-post at least a few times before achieving Denizen status? I'm pretty sure I saw that in the rule book. Comes right after "Must learn to operate Choklit Gun" and before "Must be able to identify BRENS in the Castle Armory".

Hey! Tell that waffle-walloping Wallovian to *chamber* the round before trying to close the breech... maybe the reflection off his buddy's helmet has him distracted...

Perhaps, Neffi, you have hit on why Eben Emael fell to the Hun...

I detect two things in common, not withstanding my Belgian Heritage. Both Belgian Soldiers and Algore have stiff wooden personalities. No wonder they both lost their respective contests. At least there's good beer in Belgium.

Oh! Let's not forget Friteurs with Friteur Soße!

Boq and John - three words: five cases--yesterday. And one's been on ice since the trip home.

Oh, malfunctioning ratz. Either my connection went bollixed or the brewer up the road is redecorating. *shrug* At least the ale's good...

Ah, Must be them darned Scruples of yours, chewing on the Cable Connections again, eh Chief (ret). Well maybe this will help a bit. One of my favorite refreshments that I indulge in, whenever I'm back in the old country is: ORVAL. Did I mentioned that ORVAL is a great libation to have with Mussels? Well, in any case, here's the Link to ORVAL.

Are you referring to a crewmember, John? Because the B-29 #44-62070 will fly again, after a complete teardown and restore of the wings. Thankfully the corrosion was found by inspection, not midair failure. (Only B-29 i've ever seen in person)

Actually... I suppose equipment doesn't go to Fiddler's Green does it? In re-reading that, you probably aren't referring to the aircraft in the picture...

Boq - Eating mussels in Brussels? Or do ya call 'em muges when you're in Bruges? Either way, I'll stick with shad broiled on a pointy stick accompanied by a nice cold six-pack of Tripel Horse or Winterfrost...
