The "Blitz" Redux (on a very small scale)

I'm a first-generation native-born American. My dad was a British citizen who grew up here from the time he was about 6 years old. He was naturalized in time to join the US Army at the start of WW II.

This reaction would be typical of him, with one exception. He frowned on swearing. I can count on one hand the number of times I ever heard him say anything like, "Damn!" The F-word was right out. But his was a cold fury when provoked...and that's a legacy his former countrymen brought to the New World those many years ago. That's good for us, bad for "them."

Now, stay with me for a minute...

Many thought "Troy" was a terrible movie (from the standpoint of literary accuracy...in Hollywood...imagine that). But I enjoyed it, primarily for the pleasure of watching Brad Pitt's Achilles fail so miserably at anger management. There's nothing like a well-played high dudgeon to get my blood up and Brad did a pretty good impression of being righteously pissed after Hector whacked Patroclus. (He had good reason in the real story...go check it out.)

Anyway...

We need more of that. We need to find these bastards, drive them to their knees with a bone-breaking blow, place the tip of our swords in the middle of their chests, make sure we have eye contact, and shove.

I'd dispense with the trip around the walls of Troy...time saved to go looking for another target.

How much more is it going to take before there's a hard-core consensus in the West that it's clobberin' time?

Let us be clear: This is not about al Qaeda. This is about an ideology. To some extent, al Qaeda surely was involved in London's transit bombings. It will likely surface that this attack was not carried out by an... Read More

How much more is it going to take before there's a hard-core consensus in the West that it's clobbering time? Funny. That was precisely my reaction. The answer is a bit scary to contemplate, though.

Now now.. we must give the culture of our terrorist foe the proper respect it deserves... And be sure to bury em all in a pigskin sack with some bacon shoved down their throats...

That would be a waste of good bacon, Larry... a rendered hog carcass leaves plenty of more appropriate pieces to suit the job ;)

As I said this AM, WTF were these idjits thinking??

My first thought was to pray for the casualties and their families. My second was, "Will this wake anyone up to how important fighting these people is?" How much worse would this have been if Wahabism's most elite terrorists weren't trying to blow up professional soldiers in Iraq? I suspect the answer is quite a lot - and further away from the Muslim sections of London. HELLO!!!We need to get real and get real now. Get the word to Gitmo: Take away the Korans; take down the signs pointing to Mecca (surely by now they've memorized it anyway; make them eat MRE's instead of freshly prepared meals; make them as uncomfortable as you can without resorting to real torture (like that endured in the Hanoi Hilton). They won't die, they just won't be happy. But then again, they aren't going to be happy until we're all dead, are they?

Where is Jan Sobieski, now that we really need him? Yah, I know, several hundred years dead, but we shore need somebody right similar. I swear, I'm inclining more and more to the school of thought which believes that there is too much sand in Arabia, and not enough trinitite. Oh, and Mohammed was a famous paedophile. (Though Ayesha was the only person ever able to talk any sense into him)
