Thank you, sir.

For all that you did. For your family, your Army, your Nation, and me. I know I'm late - I always was, eh? But I wanted to do this after the stone was set, and not when it would get drowned in other things.

And while you've left us - it's good to see the twins have got Dad around, finally.

Go find Bunker Mulligan, down there at Fiddler's Green. I'm sure you two have some stories to tell.

Now is the time at Castle Argghhh! when we dance: In Memoriam.

Just an aside, John - near the bowling alley at Fort Hood there was a little tiny NCO club / pool hall named Fiddler's Green. The environs probably matches the actual location :-)

Sweet and simple.... perfect, John. I'm sure the twins are enjoying having their Dad around after all these years.

You know, there is an Army gravestone out there with my name on it already... I cannot begin to tell you how odd that feels, seeing it there, knowing that's the precise spot I'm going to be buried (it was part of the deal). It's the only place on this earth I am truly attached to, and I'm not even dead yet. It is an odd thing when it's not you there. Makes one feel a bit strange.... That stone tells me volumes about Col (then 1st LT) Rice. That's a hard way to start a career and a life. Hopefully it ended on better terms. ~

*heavy sigh, a prayer for Departed Comrades, and a whisper of thanks to God for receiving them* There's a story there, which I probably missed... Perhaps, someday, when heavy hearts have been lightened, the tale can be retold... Here's my hand to assuage sorrow, and lend silent support...

Nice tribute, John. As Sgt B says, there is a story there, someday you might share it with us. Thank you Col. Rice, may you meet Bunker at Fiddler's Green and enjoy some cold ones together.

Aw Sarge, whydja have to go and make me sniffle? Well done John. Well done, as always.

I heard a song yesterday that brought tears to my eyes. Country song about being a chosen one that makes it to Arlington. Not a lot of songs do that to me. Very cool tribute.

Trace Adkins. Song is called Arlington. very cool.
