Think of all those earnest citizen volunteers in 1861 studying Hardee&apos;s &quot;Tactics&quot; as hard as they could, because, well, if anyone should know how to do it, the Regulars would. I think that, and everyone being so crazy-brave, was what made that thing so horribly bloody.
