Castle Argghhh! started out as a team blog, with She Who Will Be Obeyed, the Mistress of Castle Argghhh! going off on her own, rightfully feeling a little overrun. SWWBO "arrived" today, scoring the first Instalanche at Castle Argghhh! (see post below). During Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Armorer at Castle Argghhh! got a little flavor of seeing his words in print as he scored the coveted position of being the first accidentally designated "Military Guy" of Jonah Goldberg at the National Review Online blog, The Corner. Over time, Castle Argghhh! has engendered a hard core of readers who provide content...

Rammer, well they were rearranging the AF Museum's layout at the time. The A-10 is back on display I believe.

                Big Al - Dusty Sez:

Bottom lines:
No

Already have

For the same reasons they have F-15s and F-16s
(Total Force)

It was specifically designed for the role

Yep cockpit can take Russian 23mm cannon shot at
point-blank range (wanna see some peectures?)

Yep One HEI round = one standard Army hand grenade
(explosive weight); one API round will destroy a
tank's engine compartment and 3 API rouds are what
are used to calculate the Pk on a tank...three shall be the count and the count shall be three, count not two, nor shall thou count to the number four...and I can shoot 70 rounds/second.

BTW, any idea why the ejection handles are pulled UP in the cocpit photo? Heh. (Thanks...I think I wet myself)

Check Six,
Dusty

Is it true that the Warthog is being phased out. I sort of understand it's being given to the Air National Guard units. And if so ,why? From what I've seen it's perfect for it's role.It takes an incredible amount of abuse, and really dishes it out too. Just curious thats all.

welcome Dusty. i look forward to your explanations of B-1 cas missions. somehow, the A-10 has more appeal.

on a related note. last year i took my boys to the air museum at Wright-Pat. we wandered all over the place. at the end of the day, they said, "Dad, where is the A-10? We want to see the A-10." we asked around. we hadn't missed it, but it wasn't on display. the next day i showed them live video from Fox. it seems to me that the former Army Air Corps has a lot to learn about public relations.

A P-P-P-P-ilot? Oh my Gawd, change grid square!

Which way is he coming from? He does know!

Quick, out into the open; if he can see us, he'll miss!

Er, welcome aboard, Dusty. A-10? We really want to be your friends.

Cheers
JMH
