Oh, and one last thing, dammit.

Let's quit calling it beheading. Let's call it "sawing the head off while the victim is fully aware."

Beheading is what the executioners do with sword, axe, or guillotine. It's moderately quick unless the wielder is a drunken sot. It may be moderately (certainly comparatively) painless. It's over a hell of a lot quicker and less painfully than having your neck sawn through with a knife while hogtied and being sat on by a chickenshit coward wearing a ski-mask yelling "Allahu Akhbar!" All the while you're aware of what's happening, how it's going to end, and powerless to do anything to help it along, to the blackness of peace and release.

God is great, indeed. And I'm sure those are proud moments for the deity.

When animals dance around the bonfire of their vanity, chanting His name, waving a dripping head, eyes still blinking, while the body twitches on the ground, blood still pumping, spreading, smelling all coppery, bowels voiding, bladder emptying. It's bad enough in war. I know. It's bad enough done in the heat of battle. But it's worse done this way. Coldly. Calculatingly.

Of course, I doubt He noticed. He was too busy welcoming Nick home.

Whether they had crosses on their surcoats, or were just wearing ski-masks and tennis shoes, animals are animals. We kill stray dogs with more consideration. And these people believe they should rule the world. And that we should welcome them. Not until you climb out of the cesspit of the 7th Century.

Until then, you're targets.

Update: If you'd like a one-stop shop for all "sawing off heads all the time," I recommend (in a good way) Jeff Quinton's round-up linkfest.

Amen, brother.

What if they have american flags on their shoulders? Are animals still animals then? I admitt it, I saw the video too, and it disgusted me. But I highly soubt that our soldiers are comitting horrible crimes agaisnt humanity. There are more ways to torture someone than cutting off their heads. Did you ever stop to think that violence against violence is not the answer? We continue to stay there and fight in a war with no end, they will continue to comitt these horrible acts. Are these big time corporate dollars really worth the blood of Nick Berg and countless others both American and Arab? I am of the school of thought that says "let animals shit where they sleep" Let us get the hell out of the middle east and let that stinking bastards kill one another off. The israelies want to stay there and sling arrows with the arab nations, that is their choice. But we really have no business over there. We don't need their oil to survive. Tha sad thing of it all is on the bottom line it makes a hige net profit - cheap oil + big markups = huge profit for the oil barrons. If you don't think it is about oil, than you really don't have a grasp of what turns this world. One thing I can say for these Arabs - at least they stand up for something other than profits.

Hey - a Rosemary commenter who actually comes over here! (Long story there). Ah, yes. The Oil Shibboleth rears it's ugly head. That's it. You're right. I surrender. I can't argue.

Are you kidding me? Ever since I heard about the video, I have been waiting for some moonbat to come out and blame it on us. I saw some of it at DemocratUnderground, talking about how it was really Americans who did this, and now this? Do you know why we are there? The worthless scum who killed Nick Berg is the leader of the terrorists in Iraq. He has close ties with Bin Laden. If they could, they would do to EVERY AMERICAN what they did to Nick Berg and chant Allahu Akbar all the while. They don't care if you are part of the Blame America crowd. They would kill you as quickly as they would me. If these terrorists weren't getting killed by our military in Iraq, do you think they'd just be sitting around talking? I doubt it. The left is always claiming that Iraq has no ties with Al'Qaeda or terrorism. Watch the video, then tell me again how Iraq and terrorism are unrelated. We should leave the middle east? Well, it sure seems that they have a way to bring it to us. Let's see, ever hear of the attacks IN AMERICA on 9/11? Oh, wait, that was our fault, because we are arrogant. We are the ones who forced 19 men to hijack 4 planes and wreak destruction. If only we were a little nicer to the Arabs and helped them destroy the only democracy and our only true allies (Israel) in the Middle East. If only we would get out of the middle east.. Why is that such a great idea? ALl of a sudden we get out of the middle east. Will that make Bin Laden say, "Hey guys, now that you're out of the Middle East and are no longer allies with Israel, we won't attack you any more"? But then again, if you believe this war is just for huge profits for the oil barons, that "at least [the Arabs] stand up for something other than profits", you probably do believe this. "No Blood for OOOOOOOOOOOOOIIIIIIILLLLLLL"

Wake up. This executions was for retaliation for the torture our military commited at the prisons. And do prove how the Iraqi people and government at the time commited the 9-11 attacks? I really would love to see this one.

I won't bother. It's called the Global War Against Terror, like it or not. We tried ignoring these people. They didn't buy it - and if you really pay attention to what they say - they don't want us to ignore them and go away. They want us to submit. They want Spain back. They want anywhere they set foot to be under Shari'a. And that means in any enclaves anywhere.

They can't make war if they don't have money. Keep in mind, we made public enemy #1 top dog terrorist - Bin laden. Your asshole sec, of defense shook hands with him. Reagan and Papa Bush gave him everything he wanted and needed and a shitload of cash to invest in order "to kill those pinko commie bastards." So now that the pinko commies are gone, our chickenhawk neoconservative asshole leaders need another war to fight. These muslim warmongers have been around and fighting long before the constitution was even an itch in Thomas Jefferson pants. These muslim war mongers will be around and fightiong long after our country is a grease spot on the highway. Yes, I said it. At this rate, we cannot sustain. Wars cost money, and who is going to pay for it? Certainly not the tax payers since the good jobs are being shipped overseas. We don't make anything anymore here. We are giving our tech jobs to india and china. Do you honestly think wal-mart stock boys and home depot sales people will make enough money to pay for this war? If you do, you are more ignorant to the facts of how the world operates than I thought.

One other thing, Nunya - I really dislike commenters who hide behind bogus everthing. Put in a bogus web addy - that's what the comments default to if the software finds an email and a url. I won't give out your address. I just like people who are willing to be accountable for their comments, to me, and at least in private.

It is called anti-spam. I never put in a real email addres. As a matter of fact, I have a piece of software that auto-populates these lines. Don't try and change the subject with the tired old "you arent putting in a real email address" - an email address has nothing to do with the context of the message.

I wasn't changing the subject - I was expanding it. I generally don't piss up ropes. It's a waste of time. So is arguing with you on this subject. Except for surrendering, nothing I have to say is going to affect you one way or another. So far, nothing you've had to say affects me. Ergo. No point. I'm willing to let you have at it here. But by my rules. I pay for this, not you. You really think I'm going to spam you? I have better things to do with my time. I just want someone with some moral courage. What you do in hiding behind all that is wear a mask that hides your face. The anti-spam device is myemailaddy@NOSPAMASSHO13SKC.rr.com. The spambots miss it (not that it displays, anyway) and I can strip it out. Sounds like you have lots of experience coming in to rant on people's blogs and being annoyed that they ask the question. Tough. I'm no threat to you. I assumed you weren't in the US intially, but I see you are coming in from an rr.com address in the south? I was thrown off by the 'your asshole secdef' but I see he's "mine" because you assume I'm a Republican or something like that. Here's a problem with using Roadrunner and hiding yourself behind the fake stuff. You may not have noticed it before. The IP (which only shows up to me) points to your webpage, Steve. Or at least somebody's webpage. Named Steve. As for the jobs going overseas, Steve - and I assume you're a techie, not a furniture maker, just like I said in a different post about this topic... adapt or die. My wife is a techie. She's adapted. I'm a techie. I've adapted. No one is going to outsource what she and I do overseas. Or learn to make really nice furniture. Or repair cars. Or build houses. Or make custom websites for people. Learn a foreign language and make websites for people overseas. And you're right. We can't sustain this level of effort indefinitely. And we do need to set it up and get out, and let the Iraqis have their chance. I don't think they'll do that well, frankly. But we'll give them the chance. Which is more than they had under Saddam. And if they fuck it up too badly, we'll go back. John Kerry won't save your job either, Steve. And Ralph will just kill the economy that makes it all possible. And it's not really about oil. But you don't believe that, and anything I say isn't going to change that. So heck, why not change the subject? We can agree on cats. We have 7 at Castle Argghhh!. We both like computers. So does my wife. I do gubbermint work (that's my adaptation) my wife does stuff that requires a personal presence at the site - not something that can be outsourced to India. And by the time her kind of work really can be (absent a revolution, vice evolution in software) she'll be retired. She started out in the help-desk world. Now she's in the 'hold it all together and keep it from breaking' world. Adapt or die. I also enjoy the basement. That's where the arsenal is (and no, I'm not one of the dangerous ones who sits in the basement stroking his rifle, calling it "Nelly" and surrounded by cases of ammo waiting for the world to end. Go click on the Castle in the left sidebar. Come visit. Now, how's THAT for a change of subject?

Well, you are part right. There is a web page directly at that IP that was hosted for a friend of mine as an example of his work for a job. However, I forgot to the .config file to keep apache from starting after my last reboot. That is now taken care of. However, you are talking to a name that has nothing to do with this conversation. I am not Steve and he would probably not agree with me anyway. But I digres on that. I am however, a techie person. I am a very well trained and knowledgeable techie person, but my options are running thin. How much leap frogging can I do before there are no more lillypads in the pond to jump to? All the lillypads are being put into another pond. I am adapting though. A career change is in the works. Not by choice. I love working with technology. But the day my heart broke in two was when my 7 year old son said he wanted to do what I did when he grew up. What was I going to say to him when I know that what I do will be done by some Indian, perhaps chiname, for a fraction of what I make, when my son is my age. All because our wonderful government is making no effort to keep the jobs from going off shore. Do I think kerry will help that? I don't know. But if I were to place a bet on it between him doing something or Bush doing something...well...you figure that one out. But it is not a bet, it is a vote. And my vote will go to the one who is more likely to do something about it. Call my a silly person, but somehow, I don't see bush as being that one.

Semantics aside, crying "oil" aside, well-worded arguments aside, feelings about the current U.S. administration aside... What you're doing, Nunya, is trying to make the horrific death the fault of someone other than the one with the sawblade.

"They can't make war if they don't have money." Huh? which of your two functioning synapses is responsible for that bit of wisdom? How much money does it take to buy a damn kitchen knife, you retarded fool? If you're a "very well trained" techie person the training must have somehow entirely bypassed logical thought.

Everybody felt sorry for the Duke of Monmouth because it took five licks to sever his head. This thing is much worse.

You can't argue logically with someone like nunya. He or she is so far out of the realm of reality that we may as well hit our heads against a brick wall. Techie person, my ass, I bet.

"somewhat like nunya" and this is coming from someone who claims she is logical. Anyway - a kitchen knife does not make war. And I would bet my own life that you will never see another hijacking of an airplane that will be run into a building again for the rest of your life. 9-11 was a tragic anamoly.

First of all i feel so bad about that poor guy and his family .But we all know that Bush new who he was against with .Those ppls over there are that way and buy keeping those pics a secret was orrible and who knows what else his not telling the Americans how can we trust him after that?No wonder poor Nick had suffer like that, who we have to blame?American Soldiers also put them self under theyre level of abuse by taking those pictures and videos of those priseners and keeping it a secret from Americans,Bush new tthat this was going to happened,Bush knows how bad they are and they were of done something like that what they did to Nick.I think no matter what both side of what's going on is the blame.I may be wrong but it's just what i think about all this mess.(there is so much i want to say but it would take all day and i have things to do)i am so sorry Nick my prays are with you and your family I'll see you in haven.

Sorry, Scarlet - I believe him when he says he hadn't seen the pictures. Ya want to be pissed at someone, be pissed at Rumsfeld.

nuke the slurpee serving sobs

WHere does accountability go when it comes to the shit hitting the fan with top execs, both corporation and government? Amazingly, I am sure Jeff Skilling and Ken lay jumped up every fucking quarter the had an increase in bottom line numbers. I am sure they took all the credit for that. But when all hell broke loose and they got caught, all of a sudden they "had no idea." So why shouldn't we be pissed at Bush? Perhaps he was out of the loop on this, but now that he knows, what has he done other than privbately slap the wrist of rumsfeld and then turns around and rewards and parises the job he has done. So yes, I am pissed at bush for not putting accountability where it needs to be. On the top. But that seems to be the mantra of this administration - no accountability.

Not points without merit, Nunya. At this point, based on what I've seen, I won't be pissed at Bush. Since you are starting from the position of being pissed at Bush, nothing happening here of late is going to change that, eh? Changing the subject again (consistency check) - where do you stand on accountability regarding Mogadishu, the USS Cole, Waco? Would you hold the Clinton administration to the same level of accountability there? If so, you are being consistent per my worldview. If not, your consistency is hampered by your politics. I, for one, did not hold Clinton responsible, in a personal sense, for Waco. I did feel Reno was. I do feel that Rumsfeld has real personal responsibility (not a widely held opinion on the right side of things) for what happened at Abu Ghraib. I would contend that if you feel that the decision to not fire Reno over Waco was Clinton's to make, and you weren't pissed at Clinton - then you owe Bush the same consideration. If you do feel that Clinton should have fired Reno and didn't - as I said, you pass my consistency check.

I will be terribly surprised if Nunya answers your questions, sweetie.

Me too (as in surprised)... but I must say I am waiting just in case!!! :)

kill all the muslim bastards, videotape it, and play it on CNN 24/7 Allah my ass!
