...not just whizzing by on the highway.
A quintessential piece of Americana, which was at the Fort Leavenworth Commissary yesterday. Sadly, I had no camera with me.

And I've got the Whistle! Neener-neener-neener! SWWBO thought that was tres' kewl!
Ah, the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile.
I briefly chatted with the young man driving it. He says it handles just fine, crosswinds aren't even a problem. He says the back-up camera is very useful, however.
I asked about that blown engine from the commercial (as, apparently do a lot of people). It's a plastic add-on. *That* was kinda sad...
We return you now to your regularly-scheduled milblog. But hey, things like this are among the reasons Why We Fight!
KEWL! I wanta whistle too! Dang it.
I was at Tarjay Boutique (aka, Target) over the summer and saw something rather odd- a gi-normous Yogi the Bear on the back of a flatbed truck. It must have been 15 feet tall. I've got a cellphone picture of it somewhere.
John!
That's what you need! A camera phone!
Snerk- you assume I carry a phone around...
This is uhm... a dangerous thing for me to comment on.
I'm trying to relate here...
The very original is in Henry Ford's Museum in Dearborn Michigan. You can buy the whistles there too, maybe even online.
The original has a metal dashboard with Stewart warner gauges, labeled with a Dymo Labelmaker. An awesome vehicle- and Motor Week did a review of it in the 80's- a riot if you can get your hands on one.
So, John.....
Did you pull out #82 to compare notes? You know, to get the correct wheelbase for your own weinermobile....
Awright, WK, you started it...
Back when I lived in Techwood Dorm, there weren't many phones there. Sometimes a guy's girlfriend would call and some other guy would answer. If the intended callee was absent, or if the guy who answered was just feeling low crass and mean, he'd say something like,
"Sorry, he's not here; but would you like to talk to Oscar Mayer?
He's all meat".
